Freemasonry is the world’s oldest and largest fraternal organization. As Freemasons we live by an ethical and moral code that distinguishes us and creates an atmosphere where friendship and understanding can grow among men of every religion, race and culture. This is the public website of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Rhode Island. If you're interested in our lodges and considering an application to join,

A message from our Grand Master

gm glenn tails

I would like to welcome you to our website and, whether you are a Freemason or just stopping by to see what Freemasonry is all about, I hope that you will find this site to be both interesting and informative regarding our Fraternity.

The Masonic Grand Lodge of Rhode Island is in the smallest state, but has the largest name.  The complete name or our Grand Lodge is "The Grand Lodge of the Most Ancient and Honorable Society of Free and Accepted Masons for the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations."  Through this site we will attempt to keep our Rhode Island Masons and non-Masonic visitors up to date with the many Grand Lodge events within our jurisdiction. So please come back often.

If you are a traveling Mason visiting our neck of the woods and would like to attend one of our meetings, you can view our calendar here. If your Grand Lodge is recognized by the Grand Lodge of Rhode Island and can produce proper vouchers on being made a Freemason, we look forward to having you join us in our lodge meetings.

Most of our social and fundraising events include Masons as well as their partners and friends. Most of what we raise is donated to local non-Masonic charities. We our proud to play an active part in our communities.

If you are not currently a Freemason, but looking to learn more about our Fraternity, we hope you will find the answers to your questions within these pages. If you have questions that are unanswered or would like more information on becoming a Freemason, contact our Grand Lodge office, 222 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, RI 02914, 401-435-4650, or visit the “What Is Freemasonry” page.

Most Worshipful Grand Master Glenn S. Carlson
