Hermione 2015

The Grand Lodge of RI in conjunction with “Hermione 2015” will be participating in several events during its visit to Newport (scheduled for July 8-9). Most especially, we plan to hold a Revolutionary War Festive Board and you can click here for details.

The Hermione left Rochefort, France, on April 18th to sail 3,819 miles to America. She will reach Yorktown, Virgina on June 5th and then sail up the east coast docking in 11 iconic cities. Tours of the Hermione, a traveling exhibit of the 17-year long process to hand-craft the frigate of freedom, heritage reenactments, museum exhibitions, lectures, food, film, festivities and more in each port of call. 10:00–4pm Fort Adams: 18th c Military drills and demonstrations; military encampment (entrance  fee)

10:00-11am & 1pm-3pm Encasement area, Fort Adams Trust (included with entrance fee)

Rhode Island historians and authors lectures on RI’s 18th c history

11:00–1:30pm “Sighting of the Hermione” Oceancliff Luncheon Fundraiser (public – ticketed)
